Duet is a web-based platform connecting resettled refugees and donors to support the local economy of the communities where they relocate.
I had the opportunity to join the amazing, mission-driven Product team the summer before my junior year at USC as a Product Design Intern.

Request editing feature enables beneficiaries to bring more attention to certain items on the donor end.

Given that most beneficiaries' native language is Farsi, I constructed a Farsi interface to accommodate more users. Adapting designs and interactions to fit the right to left reading will support more intuitive experiences for refugees.
To support a personal feel within the portal, the homepage is a dashboard where beneficiaries can access their profile information and request new items.

To ensure that the flow was as seamless as possible, I decided to utilize modals as to not take up so much screen real estate.

Boosted time spent on beneficiary portal by 32%
Increased number of thank you messages sent to donors by 24%
Favorable feedback cites faster pick-ups and ease of use
Curious to explore the humanitarian space, I joined the Duet team as a Product Design Intern in Summer 2020. Duet is a web-based platform that connects resettled refugees and donors to support the local economy of the communities where they relocate. In particular, Duet focuses on Syrian refugees and families residing in Lesvos, Greece.
From a high-level view, Duet’s model of giving is a three-step process: beneficiaries request items through the beneficiary portal, donors purchase requested items, and then local shops in Lesvos prepare donations for pick-ups.
